CWEC Celebrates 75 Years at the 2012 Annual Meeting

CWEC is celebrating 75 Years in 2012, so what better way to kick off the celebration than with 200 of their members at their Annual Meeting on Saturday, April 14th.  The CWEC Annual Meeting at the Rosholt High School started with donuts and coffee at 9am.  CEO Greg Blum and Board Chairman Tony Buss addressed the many challenges we are facing in the coming year and in our future years, and what the co-op and board of directors are doing to address the challenges and still try to maintain affordable electricity for our members.

Area food pantries are thankful for the nearly 430 items of food donated by CWEC members at the annual meeting food drive.  The food drive also helped to promote the many benefits of switching to CFLs from standard incandescent lighting; each person who donated three or more items was given a CFL bulb.

Two directors were reelected to the Board of Directors; Leonard Oppor and Anthony Buss, Jr.

Noah Barden won the bike.

Comedian C. Willi Myles entertained the members, which was followed a wonderful lunch.

Held in April, the Co-op's Annual Meeting features a wrap up of the previous year, Board Chariman & CEO reports, board elections, general Co-op business and entertainment.  Numerous door prizes including free electricity are drawn for.  A special kid's drawing for a new bike is held.  The day's festivities conclude with a lunch.
